Small Group Tour: Macaron Cooking Class in Paris
This experiential tour will provide guests with the opportunity to take a macaron cooking class at the home of a French chef when in Paris. In the afternoon, after lunch, guests will make their way to the private residence of the master pastry chef. Here, under their chef’s expert guidance, they will learn how to create the colorful little Parisian-style macarons that have delighted the world since the 1800s. Macarons usually come in a rainbow of pretty pastel shades; however, this class will concentrate on creating only two flavors, to be chosen by the group. Guests can choose from favorite flavors such as chocolate and cocoa, lemon, or raspberry with tonka beans. Other possible flavors could include coconut with milk chocolate, or coffee. They will learn traditional, time-tested methods with useful, troubleshooting tips and tricks to turn out the perfect little batch. After class, guests will leave with the recipe as well as macarons for their folks back home.
