Small Group Morning Tour of Gold Beach Sector
Guests will step back in time on this small group tour of the Gold Beach Sector, reliving the events of June 6, 1944, when British troops first landed in Normandy. They will meet their English-speaking guide and travel to Gold Beach, where 25,000 soldiers embarked on one of the most significant military operations in history. Participants will learn about the objectives achieved that day, such as the liberation of Arromanches and the link-up with Canadian forces on Juno Beach. Along the way, they will explore the impressive and nearly intact German gun battery at Longues-sur-Mer, capable of firing across both Omaha and Gold Beach. The tour continues to the artificial harbor of Arromanches, a testament to the incredible engineering efforts of the time. With a flexible pace, guests will have time to absorb the historical significance of each stop. By the end of the morning, they will return with a deeper understanding of the bravery and strategic brilliance of the D-Day landings.
