Small Group American Sector Morning Tour
On this tour, guests will spend a few memorable hours visiting historic sites around Omaha Beach. During World War II, this was the sector where the Allies suffered the heaviest casualties on D-Day, earning the beach the nickname of Bloody Omaha. Traveling in a small group, guests will walk on the beach and learn about its history from their knowledgeable guide. Later, they will head to the German gun battery site at Pointe du Hoc, where the US Rangers famously scaled the 100-foot cliffs while under heavy enemy fire to capture and destroy the six heavy guns. The tour will then continue to the American Cemetery, where brave young soldiers who died in the war are buried at Colleville-sur-Mer, overlooking the eastern end of Omaha Beach. After a poignant morning tour, guests will return to their hotel.
