Shared Tour: Versailles Guided Tour with Priority Access by Motorcoach AM
Guests will spend the morning discovering the magnificent Chateau de Versailles that once served as the French royal residence. From a centrally located meeting point in Paris, guests will drive in a comfortable motorcoach to the magnificent city of Versailles. Having priority access at the palace ensures that they can head straight inside for a comprehensive guided tour. As they explore the UNESCO-listed palace inside the sprawling complex, the knowledgeable guide-interpreter will regale them with riveting stories about the place and its historic occupants. Guests will learn how Louis XIV officially installed the court and government of the Kingdom at Versailles in 1682. At the king’s and queen’s Grand Apartments, guests will view purpose-built rooms decorated in opulent marble and gold. They will walk around the Hall of Mirrors, where the historic Treaty of Versailles was signed to signal the end of World War I. After the guided tour ends, guests can stroll the beautiful French gardens surrounding the palace. The verdant grounds are dotted with sculptures dating back to 1661, crafted by teams of sculptors initially supervised by Charles Le Brun, the royal painter. Afterwards, guests will head back to Paris.
