Shared Tour: Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel & St. Peter's Basilica Morning Walking Tour 9:00AM
On this tour, travelers will explore the impressive Vatican Museums and part of Vatican City. One of Europe's smallest microstates, located on Vatican Hill in west-central Rome, its borders closely follow the city wall. Guests will begin their visit to the Vatican Museums by marveling at the modern entrance created for the Jubilee 2000, then go on to admire Raphael's Rooms, the Tapestries, and the Gallery of Geographic Maps. They will then pause to take in the Sistine Chapel, the site of the Conclave, featuring Michelangelo's famous frescoes. After passing through the museums, travelers will arrive at St. Peter's Basilica; as one of Rome's four major basilicas and built on the ruins of the original Basilica of St. Peter, it is the most prominent building within Vatican City.
