Shared Tour: The Essence of Tuscany: Chianti Classico, Montalcino and Montepulciano Minivan Tour
Enjoy a splendid excursion through the Tuscan countryside, past vineyards and olive groves to the villages of Greve, Castellina, Montalcino and Montepulciano. In Greve you can take in the charm of the historical square by visiting galleries as you wander through shops carrying local craft items and products typical of Chianti. We will continue on to the ancient village of Castellina where we will visit a wine cellar. Outside the village, you can experience a tasting of wines, extra virgin olive oil on Tuscan bread and vin santo before heading on to Crete Senesi clay ravines and hillsides. Further on, we will arrive in the Val d’Orcia area with its castles, churches, villages and farms. We will lunch at a historical farmhouse and have a guided wine tasting followed by a visit to a wine cellar and free time to explore.
Next, we will travel to Montalcino with its 14th century fortress that offers a splendid view over Val d’Orcia. You can wander the streets through wineries and artisan shops before we travel on to Montepulciano situated atop a hill 1900 feet above sea level. There will be time for a brief walk through the town’s steep streets and a visit to a wine cellar before starting our return to Florence.
