Shared Tour: Shared Tour- Normandy and the Landing Beaches Motorcoach Tour
On this immersive day-long tour, guests will step back in time at the historic Normandy D-Day beaches. Considered the largest seaborne invasion in world history, the D-Day landings were a collaboration between British, American, and Canadian troops, and guests will learn more about it on this tour from their knowledgeable guide. The tour will begin with a visit to the Caen Memorial, also known as the Peace Museum, to gain perspective on the events that led to D-Day. Through illustrations and films about the Second World War and the Normandy landings of June 1944, guests will relive moments that forever turned the tide of history. Later, they will delve into the heroic tales of bravery and sacrifice at Pointe du Hoc, one of the first German fortified sites to be captured by the Allied forces. From there, the tour continues to the American Cemetery of Saint-Laurent at Colleville, where they will learn more about the fallen soldiers from the knowledgeable guide. They can then go for a walk along Omaha Beach, located below the cemetery, where the remains of German bunkers are still to be seen.
