Shared Tour: Mykonos City and Island Morning Tour
Experience the essence of the beautiful town of Mykonos. On this leisurely walk through the narrow alleyways of 'Chora" you will see the iconic windmills, little Venice and gain insight into the local life of the island.
Although Mykonos has been a travel destination since the 1960's it retains much of it's local character and traditions.
On this immersive walk your guide will explain the reasoning of the architecture and the layout of this picturesque town. The Cycladic style, whitewashed small cubical houses are the characteristics of the town of Mykonos, your guide will reveal the how and why it was built in such a manner!
You will continue the island tour with a bus, visiting some of the most famous beaches and the inner landscape. You will see fishermen and kaikis, small private chapels and houses built in typical Cycladic style.
In the second main village of Mykonos, Ano Mera, an idyllic place 6km from town, where you will have enough free time for a stroll around the traditional square and can visit the monk monastery Panagia tourliani, built in the 16th century. Next stop if Kalafatis beach where there will be time to relax a little and have a coffee or refreshment (not included in the price), before going back to town and to reach a place with a fantastic view all over the town and neighboring islands.
This tour is provided on a reserved basis prior to departure. Passengers must contact the local sightseeing company upon arrival to reconfirm their tour.
