Shared Tour: Highclere Castle with Bampton Village and Oxford Tour
On this full-day guided tour, guests will explore some of England’s most popular destinations, starting with a scenic drive from London to Oxford. Once in this city of dreaming spires, they will enjoy walking through the city’s historic streets, where they’ll marvel at the stunning architecture of ivy-clad colleges, chapels, and libraries. After free time for lunch, the group will head to Bampton, a charming village featured in Downton Abbey. There, guests will visit the church, Matthew Crawley’s mother’s house, and several other filming locations from the beloved TV series. The tour then continues to Highclere Castle, made famous by Downton Abbey. Guests will be awed by the majestic exterior and sweeping views of the surrounding estate. Inside, they’ll explore the grand hall, library, and other public rooms, while the guide shares the history of the castle and the Earls of Carnarvon. Before concluding their day, guests may wish to indulge in traditional English tea, and then settle in for their ride back to London.
