Shared Tour: Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill Morning Walking Tour
Guests will explore some of the most iconic landmarks of ancient Rome on this immersive walking tour. In the morning, they will meet their knowledgeable guide in front of the Arch of Constantine and head to the Colosseum. Considered the largest standing amphitheater in the world, it was the venue of numerous bloody gladiatorial events, seating more than 50,000 spectators at a time. Bypassing the large queues with their skip-the-line entrance tickets, guests will be able to step inside immediately.
Next, they will walk up Palatine Hill, the oldest inhabited part of the city, to take in breathtaking views of Rome. Along the way, they will also hear stories about the founding of Rome and the region’s history from their guide. The Roman Forum, the site of several ancient government buildings, is yet another highlight of the tour. The excursion winds along Via Sacra or the Sacred Way, past the impressive Temples of Vesta, Antoninus and Faustina. Also on the itinerary are the Basilica Julia and Basilica Emilia, counted among the most beautiful buildings of their age. At the end of the tour, guests will leave with a deeper understanding of the ancient Roman Empire.
