Shared: Pesto Course in Levanto 11:00AM
In this class, guests will have the opportunity to learn how to make traditional pesto sauce in an age-old way with a mortar and pestle. In the morning or afternoon, as they wish, guests will make their way to the cooking class in the heart of Levanto. They will learn how to make authentic pesto sauce with their own hands using traditional ingredients like fresh basil leaves, local cheese, and olive oil from the region’s olive groves. They will also learn the history and heritage associated with this global favorite. Later, guests will enjoy tasting the fruits of their labor with a glass of sparkling wine, and samplings of typical local snacks like black olives, bruschetta with anchovies, bruschetta with olive oil, and a local pastry with limoncino.

Directions: From the Levanto train station, walk straight to the center following Corso Roma, the main tree-lined avenue. Turn left on to Corso Italia. No. 16, La Nicchia Pestifera will be on the left, before reaching the town square with public gardens.
This tour operates daily, except for Tuesdays.
