Private Full Day Normandy D-Day Tour with Licensed English-Speaking Driver-Guide
This private, full-day D-Day tour in Normandy will have guests retracing the footsteps of the allied soldiers who fought against the Nazis. In the morning, they will travel west from Paris in a private vehicle, with a stop for coffee and croissants en route. Once in Normandy, the tour will begin at Arromanches Beach where participants will see the remains of the artificial harbor that was vital to the success of the D-Day landings. They will then drive to the German coastal artillery battery at Longues-sur-Mer, which still retains some of its original guns. Afterwards, guests will have free time for lunch before heading to the American Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer that houses thousands of military graves, the Memorial, the Wall of the Missing, and the Chapel. At the American Interpretive Center, guests will view films about D-Day and the Battle of Normandy operations. The exploration will continue with a visit to Omaha Beach and Pointe du Hoc, where Colonel James Rudder and the US 2nd Ranger Battalion heroically destroyed a battery of guns. Time permitting, there will be a quick stop at the German cemetery at La Cambe before heading back to Paris.
