This private, full-day D-Day tour in Normandy gives visitors an opportunity to walk in the footsteps of the allied soldiers who gave their lives to liberate Europe from Nazi tyranny, forever changing the course of history. Departing Paris at 7am, the guide will stop midway for coffee and croissants, providing a historical introduction to D-Day and the Battle of Normandy.

Upon arrival in Normandy, the tour starts with a visit to Arromanches to discover the remains of the artificial harbor (Mulberry), vital to the success of the landings. From Arromanches, the guide will drive to the German coastal artillery battery at Longues Sur Mer, part of Germany’s Atlantic Wall fortifications.

After visiting Longues Sur Mer, the group will have lunch in a typical Norman restaurant (not included). Post-lunch, the journey continues with an exhaustive visit to the American Cemetery of Colleville. This tribute to the war heroes covers 172.5 acres and contains the graves of 9,387 military personnel, most of whom lost their lives in the D-Day landings and ensuing operations. The visit includes the Memorial, the Wall of the Missing, the Chapel, and noteworthy tombs.

Next is a stop at the American Interpretive Center, where visitors can view remarkable films and documentaries about D-Day and the Battle of Normandy operations. The tour continues with a drive and visit to Omaha Beach, a symbol of the sacrifice of American soldiers in WWII since June 6th, 1944.

The journey concludes with a private guided visit to Pointe Du Hoc, where Colonel James Rudder and the US 2nd Ranger Battalion heroically destroyed a battery of five 155mm guns. If time permits, there will be a short stop at the German cemetery at La Cambe. The group will return to their hotel in Paris around 7pm.
