Private 2-Day Normandy D-Day Tour with Licensed English-Speaking Driver-Guide
On this private overnight tour, guests will visit the sites that played a pivotal role in ensuring Allied victory in World War II. Accompanied by a knowledgeable driver-guide, they will drive to the Peace Memorial and Museum in Caen, stopping en route for coffee, croissants, and an informative lecture on D-Day. A visit to Pegasus Bridge in Bénouville, the first to be liberated in 1944, is next. In the afternoon, guests will head to Arromanches, which has the remains of the artificial harbor that was vital to the success of the D-Day landings. They will see the German coastal artillery battery at Longues-sur-Mer with some of the original guns. Guests will also visit the American Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer with over 9,000 military graves, and the American Interpretive Center. Day two will begin with a visit to the village of Sainte-Mère-Église, where the troops of the 82nd Airborne landed and freed the village during Mission Boston. The exploration will continue at Utah Beach with its memorial, Pointe du Hoc, captured by Allied troops after a daring climb, and Omaha Beach. Afterwards, guests will be dropped off at their hotel or any other central location.
