The history of Normandy and the spectacular beauty of Brittany are yours to experience over four remarkable fun-filled days. Led by a private driver guide, you will discover ancient history, WWII battle sites, the island monastery of Mont-Saint-Michel, along with beach towns and picturesque villages.
Day 1. Enjoy Normandy’s peaceful side with lovely tours of historic Rouen and romantic Honfleur, located on the Seine estuary. Spend the afternoon in Bayeux, where you will see the world’s oldest tapestry and a gorgeous 12th century cathedral.
Day 2. This morning, you will cross the Pegasus Bridge en route to Arromanches, the German coastal artillery battery of Longues Sur Mer, and the American Cemetery of Saint Laurent. The afternoon will consist of two more important sites; Omaha Beach and cliffside Pointe du Hoc, which was attacked and captured by allied troops after a daring climb.
Day 3. Spend the morning on a private tour of Mont-Saint-Michel , the one-of-a-kind island monastery and commune set on an island about a half mile off the coast that is only accessible during low tide via a path that Celtic, Roman, and Christian worshipers have dutifully taken since at least the 6th century A.D. Your afternoon will be spent in the ancient walled city of Saint-Malo.
Day 4. Today’s first stop is the picturesque fishing village of Cancale, followed by a private tour of the summer resort town of Dinard whose casinos, glamorous villas, and luxury hotels have made it one of the area’s most exclusive retreats for more than a century. Continue to Dinan, a stunning medieval city perched high above the River Rame.
