On this tour, guests will spend an enjoyable morning exploring the magnificent Windsor Castle, one of the royal residences. Accompanied by their private driver-guide in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle, guests will journey from London to Berkshire, where the castle is located. The building is set amid 500 acres of parkland close to the River Thames in the town of Windsor. As guests walk about the grounds to reach the castle, their knowledgeable guide will narrate its history along with interesting stories and anecdotes about its occupants. Inside, visitors will view the lavishly furnished State Apartments with their incredible painted ceilings, and St. George’s Chapel where eleven British Monarchs including Queen Elizabeth II, Henry VIII, and Charles I, are laid to rest. Guests can also admire the Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House with its detailed miniature furnishings, pictures, a stocked wine cellar, and functioning bathrooms. The tour will conclude with a leisurely stroll in the lovely village of Eton if time permits, before guests drive back to London.
