This private morning tour is a wonderful way to discover the UNESCO-listed ancient city of Pompeii. Once a thriving settlement, it was destroyed fully by the catastrophic eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79. At the scheduled time, guests will set off from Sorrento and head to the archeological site at Pompeii. Accompanied by their knowledgeable local guide, they will step back in time to relive the heydays of this ancient Roman town. The guide will narrate how this charming town was completely buried under layers of volcanic ash and pumice. Guests could walk down the ancient street to see the breathtaking sight of an entire civilization frozen in time – baths, forums, and villas well-preserved by the lava over the centuries. Once the tour concludes, guests will be driven back to Sorrento.
