This morning, guests will enjoy an exclusive private tour of Montserrat and its monastery in Barcelona. The visit starts with a ride to the mountain of Montserrat, which is 4,051 feet high with interesting rock formations shaped by the wind and rain. From there, a cogwheel train will take guests up to the Benedictine monastery, while offering wonderful views of the surrounds. The famous statue of the Virgin of Montserrat, the patron saint of Catalonia, is enshrined in the monastery's Royal Basilica. A knowledgeable guide will take guests through its history and the many miracles performed by the Virgin for her pilgrims who visit till this date. Some mornings, guests can also witness a delightful performance by the children’s choir in the monastery. The tour will conclude with a tasting of local liquors and a visit to the audiovisual exhibition inside the monastery.

Please dress appropriately for visiting Montserrat Basilica; tank tops, strapless shirts, short shorts, and sandals will not be permitted inside.

This tour includes walking; comfortable shoes are recommended.
