Private Montserrat Half Day Afternoon Tour with Cog-Wheel Train
This tour offers an unforgettable afternoon at the world-famous Montserrat Monastery in Barcelona, privately guided by a local expert. Located at the top of the majestic Montserrat mountain, this 11th-century Benedictine monastery is one of Spain’s most popular and beautiful religious retreats. At the start of the tour, a cogwheel train will take guests up the mountain, past pink rock formations and breathtaking views which can be admired from the train’s panoramic windows. The legendary Virgin of Montserrat, a venerated statue of the Madonna and Child which dates back to the 12th century, is housed in the monastery. Accompanied by their guide, guests will learn about the monastery’s history, architecture, and lifestyle of the 80 resident monks.
