Private Historic Normandy 2-Day Tour with Licensed English Speaking Driver-Guide
This tour offers a comprehensive exploration of the historic Normandy region with a licensed and knowledgeable driver-guide in a private vehicle. On the first day, guests will head to the ruins of the medieval Château Gaillard, an impressive castle overlooking the Rhine River. Next, guests will explore Jumièges Abbey, once a popular pilgrimage site for Catholics. In Rouen, they will see the Place du Vieux Marché (Old Market Square), where Joan of Arc was burnt at the stake, among other prominent attractions. On the second day, participants will discover the port town of Honfleur, which has inspired Impressionist painters such as Claude Monet and Eugène Boudin. This will be followed by a guided tour of the picturesque seaside resort of Deauville, known for its grand casino, golf courses, and beautiful beaches. The last stop on the tour is at Bayeux, the first French town liberated by the Allies on June 7, 1944. Travelers will visit the beautiful 12th-century Cathedral and view the 203-foot-long Tapestry of Bayeux, the oldest tapestry in the world depicting the Battle of Hastings in 1066. Afterwards, having experienced the rich culture and laid-back vibe of the Normandy region, guests will be dropped back to their hotel or a central location.
