Private Half Day Afternoon Toledo Sightseeing Tour from Madrid
This afternoon, guests will set out to explore the historic city of Toledo in a private, chauffeured vehicle with a local expert. Once Spain’s capital city, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is the perfect mix of Arab, Jewish and Christian influences. Upon reaching the ancient city, guests will accompany their guide on a walking tour of the prominent landmarks representing all three religions. At the San Juan de los Reyes Monastery, guests will get a close look at the courtyard cloisters and royal coats of arms. Next, they will visit the Synagogue of Santa Maria la Blanca, a museum housed in the oldest standing synagogue in Europe. Built by Islamic architects in a Christian nation for Jewish worshippers in the 12th-century, this synagogue has long symbolized the goodwill between the religions. Last but not least, is a visit to the impressive Toledo Cathedral, built in Gothic style. Participants will witness the magnificent facade and the huge bell tower before heading back to Madrid.
