Private Greve and Radda in Chianti Tour with Lunch in a Charming Castle
Guests will spend the day touring the medieval towns of Greve and Radda in the Chianti wine region, and sampling authentic Tuscan cuisine. After breakfast, they will be picked up from their hotel in a chauffeured vehicle. Driving south from Florence, participants will reach Greve where they can explore the historic town square and its architecture at their own pace. The piazza is lined with charming stores selling Tuscan crafts and wines. There is ample opportunity to sample some of the local produce, if they so wish. Afterwards, they will drive down to Verrazzano Castle, birthplace of renowned explorer Giovanni da Verrazzano who is credited with discovering the Bay of New York. Today, however, the castle is better known for its historic wine cellars. Guests will enjoy a tour of the building and a wine tasting session, followed by a visit to the hilltop village of Radda. With fantastic views of the countryside from their hilltop location, guests can sit down to enjoy some local dishes paired with delicious Chianti reds and whites.
