On this tour, guests will spend a relaxing day discovering the village of Avebury and the historic Stonehenge. Accompanied by a knowledgeable English-speaking guide, guests will set out from their hotel in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle. The tour will begin at the neolithic Avebury stone circle, one of the largest in the world. According to English history, these stones predate Stonehenge by several hundred years! Guests will also visit the Alexander Keiller Museum to discover one of the most important archaeological collections in Britain. The next stop is at the prehistoric Stonehenge, one of the world’s biggest mysteries. Built by our ancestors over 5,000 years ago, some of these stones weigh up to 50 tons. As guests wander around the circle, their guide will regale them with fascinating legends about what Stonehenge may represent—a temple, a burial site, a place of healing, or a calendar. One of the legends states that it was built by the wizard Merlin, assisted by giants! After a fun and informative excursion where they learn about ancient history and legends, guests will return to their hotel in London.
