Private: Full Day Pompei & Vesuvius Tour with Guide in Pompeii from Ravello
On this day-long excursion from Ravello, guests will explore the UNESCO-listed ancient city of Pompeii. Once a thriving settlement, it was one of two cities to be completely destroyed by the catastrophic eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79. At the scheduled time, guests will be picked up in a private vehicle and driven to the archeological site at Pompeii to meet their guide. Together, they will relive the heydays of this ancient Roman town that remained buried under layers of volcanic ash and pumice for centuries. Their guide will lead them to the awe-inspiring sight of an entire civilization frozen in time –baths, frescoes, and houses well-preserved by the lava over the years. Next, guests will travel to Mount Vesuvius and walk up to the crater of this active volcano. After taking in splendid views of the city of Naples and the bay, they will wind up their private tour and return to Ravello.
