Guests will spend the day touring historic castles of the Chianti wine region, sampling its namesake reds, and enjoying a delicious local luncheon in the heart of Tuscany. After breakfast, they will be picked up from their hotel in a chauffeured vehicle. They will drive south from Florence to Meleto Castle, a medieval estate wedged between the provinces of Siena and Florence. Guests will admire the old stone castle and grounds nestled among vineyards and olive groves surrounded by woodlands. This will be followed by an exploration of the castle interiors with a guide. Participants will be awed by the historic halls, medieval frescos, and furnishings. They will also visit the cellars and enjoy a wine tasting session with a light lunch of Tuscan cheese, olives, and cured meats. This will be followed by a visit to another historic castle or Renaissance villa, with a guided tour and a second wine tasting session with finger foods. Later, guests will be dropped back at their accommodation in Florence or another convenient location.
