Palermo Cooking Class and Market Tour
This experience allows guests to immerse themselves in the flavors of traditional Sicilian cuisine with this small-group cooking lesson led by a professional chef. The culinary journey begins with a visit to the picturesque “Mercato del Capo,” a renowned market in the beautiful city of Palermo, Sicily. Guests will have the opportunity to personally select fresh, seasonal ingredients from the market, ensuring an authentic and flavorful cooking experience. After the market visit, guests don their aprons and prepare to get to work cooking a traditional Sicilian three-course meal, which may include iconic Sicilian specialties like “arancini,” delectable fried rice balls filled with meat sauce and peas, homemade “Pasta alla Norma,” and the famous Sicilian dessert, cannoli. Please note that the menu may vary based on the availability of seasonal ingredients.
Throughout the cooking class, the atmosphere will be highly entertaining, ensuring an enjoyable and informative experience. The professional chef will share the secrets of Sicilian cooking, making guests feel like a true Sicilian food expert for a moment. After the cooking lesson, guests will sit down and savor the dishes they’ve prepared. It’s a moment of culinary satisfaction and a chance to appreciate the authentic flavors of Sicily. To allow guests to recreate these delicious dishes at home for friends and family, they will receive a digital recipe booklet! Please be aware that fish shops are closed on Mondays, and in case the market is closed during a visit, the cooking school will provide a special introduction and extra tastings to compensate.
