On this tour, guests will explore Edinburgh and the magnificent Scottish Highlands over three days. Early in the morning of the first day, guests will board the train for Edinburgh from London's King's Cross Station. A panoramic journey awaits them across a lovely English countryside. Guests will reach Edinburgh by noon, and spend the day touring the historic city with a hop-on hop-off guided bus tour. An in-depth exploration of Edinburgh Castle, built atop an extinct volcanic hill, will reveal its century-old, bloody history. Guests will also walk up to Castle Hill to see the famous 'Stone of Destiny', which has been a part of the coronation ceremony of Scottish monarchs down the ages. The bus ticket is valid all day long, and guests can hop on and off as many times as they desire. Next day, after breakfast, guests will board their private coach and drive to the magnificent Scottish Highlands with their wild moors, glens, and rolling hills, while listening to heroic tales of William Wallace and Rob Roy. They will cross historic Glencoe, the site of a 17th century massacre, and drive past Fort William and Ben Nevis, Britain's highest peak. At Fort Augustus, guests will enjoy a boat cruise on the Loch Ness. Later, they will have a picnic luncheon packed with hearty Highland produce. On the way back, they will drive south to Perthshire, passing by glens, lochs, and highland rivers. They will also visit the old town of Dunkeld with its historic cathedral along the River Tay, before returning to Edinburgh in the evening. On the last day, guests can explore Edinburgh at their own and pace, shopping and sightseeing before taking the train back to London in the afternoon.
