This exploration of ancient Roman landmarks begins with guests meeting their knowledgeable guide at the hotel. The impressive Colosseum, also known as the Flavian Amphitheater, is the first stop on the itinerary. Skipping the long queues, guests can immediately start exploring this erstwhile venue of numerous gladiatorial events. Built to accommodate more than 50,000 people at a time, the structure is believed to be the largest standing amphitheater in the world. Being part of a small group, guests are assured of an intimate experience and the opportunity to explore at a leisurely pace. Throughout the tour, guests enjoy every word of the guide’s commentary with the included earphones and radio receiver. The next destination is Palatine Hill, the oldest inhabited part of the city which is now an open-air museum. Guests can enjoy breathtaking views of the city and take photos before heading to the legendary Roman Forum with its ruins of ancient government buildings. The tour concludes there, and guests can choose to continue exploring or return to their hotel.

Start Time:
2:30pm (Apr 1 – Oct 26)/1:30pm (Oct 27 – Mar 31). Hotel pickup starts about 1 hour earlier depending on hotel location.

Inclusions:

  • Backpacks, rucksacks, large personal bags, and luggage are banned inside the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, and Roman Forum.
  • This tour is provided on a reserved basis prior to departure.
  • Group size: Maximum 10 participants.
  • This tour does not operate on May 1, June 2, and the first Sunday of the month.
  • Visitors must dress appropriately for church visits with their shoulders and knees covered.
  • Due to high demand, this tour is only confirmed closer to the date.
