Shared Tour: Downton Abbey London Walk
This guided tour is a fascinating opportunity for guests, particularly avid fans, to explore the London film locations of the BAFTA-winning period drama, Downton Abbey. After breakfast, guests will make their way to the entrance of Temple Tube Station, to meet their guide and begin the walk. The local guide will share anecdotes and behind-the-scenes information about the show during the walk. Although most of the hit British TV series was filmed at Highclere Castle and the Oxfordshire village of Bampton, many of the episodes across its 6 seasons were shot in London too. During the walk, guests can also visit settings that had stood in for Liverpool and York. They can stand outside the Crawley’s London residence, or retrace Anna’s footsteps as she tracked Bates to a pub in Season 2. They can also join the Crawley’s for Rose’s coming out in Season 4, and remember how Edith ran off to London with baby Marigold in Season 5.
