Shared Tour: Barcelona Highlights and Montserrat Full Day Tour with Cog-Wheel Train
This tour is a wonderful way to discover Barcelona and the Montserrat Mountain. In the morning, guests will meet their guide at Estació del Nord, the former main railway station, and start their exploration of the city’s Gothic Quarter, the trendy El Born neighborhood, and Plaça de Sant Jaume. The tour will then make its way to the seaside, past the Olympic Village, the Olympic Port, and the fishermen’s quarter. As they drive on, the expert guide will point out Port Vell, Plaza de Colon with its iconic Columbus monument, and the starting point of the pedestrian-friendly, iconic Las Ramblas boulevard. Upon reaching Montjuïc hill, guests will enjoy a cable car ride with splendid aerial views of the sprawling city and the azure ocean beyond. Afterward, they will view the sports facilities built for the 1992 Olympics, such as the Lluis Companys Stadium and the Palau Sant Jordi. Back in the city center, there will be time to see the unique Gaudi houses of Casa Batlló and La Pedrera, and other famous Modernist buildings. Guests will then take a short break for lunch (at their own expense) and restart the tour with a ride to the foothills of Montserrat Mountain. The airconditioned cog wheel train starts from this location and winds its way up the mountain, offering spectacular. Alighting at the summit, they will visit the Royal Basilica of Montserrat, home to the famous 12th century Black Madonna, and have time to browse the audiovisual exhibition and sample special Montserrat liquors. On special occasions, they may even catch the children’s choir in the monastery.
